Helme fallen unter Motorradfahrern ab und an ein bisschen unter die Kategorie Reifen und Öl. Jeder hat seine Meinung, und natürlich fährt jeder genau den einzig Richtigen. Soweit so gut. Doch hin und wieder kommt ein Produkt auf den Markt, das selbst eingefleischte Stammtisch-Experten kurz innehalten lässt. Der neue Touratech Aventuro Travel Carbon (Powered bei NEXX) gehört aus meiner Sicht genau in diese Kategorie. Denn er ist ein Multitool.

Auf den ersten Blick macht der Aventuro Travel Carbon klar, woher der Wind weht. Adventure-Optik, markanter Schild, Carbon-Schale und eine Erscheinung, die förmlich nach Fernweh, Schotterpisten und großen Reisen schreit. Doch hinter der robusten Fassade steckt deutlich mehr als ein weiterer Endurohelm.

Der Versuch, die eierlegende Wollmilchsau zu bauen

Touratech hat sich gemeinsam mit NEXX einer Aufgabe angenommen, die Vorteile eines Adventure-Helms mit dem Komfort eines modernen Klapphelms zu vereinen.

Das Ergebnis kann sich durchaus sehen lassen. Der Aventuro Travel Carbon kombiniert das große Sichtfeld, die hervorragende Belüftung und den Sonnenschutz eines Adventure-Helms mit den praktischen Eigenschaften eines Klapphelms. Gerade für Brillenträger wie mich oder Reisende, die unterwegs häufiger fotografieren, navigieren oder mit Einheimischen kommunizieren, ist das ein echter Gewinn.

Denn seien wir ehrlich, wer schon einmal in voller Montur an einer Tankstelle versucht hat, mit geschlossenem Helm nach dem Weg zu fragen, weiß, dass selbst einfache Ortsnamen plötzlich wie Altgriechisch klingen können. Und zum Helm abnehmen bin zumindest ich hin und wieder einfach zu faul.

Hightech aus Carbon

Herzstück des Helms ist die X-PRO-Carbonfaserschale. Die Konstruktion basiert auf Technologien aus der Luft- und Raumfahrt und nutzt hochwertiges 3K-Carbon für maximale Stabilität bei geringem Gewicht.

Mit rund 1.725 Gramm bewegt sich der Aventuro Travel Carbon trotz Klappmechanismus und umfangreicher Ausstattung auf einem bemerkenswert guten Niveau. Noch wichtiger ist jedoch das Sicherheitsgefühl. Die aktuelle ECE 22.06-Zertifizierung sowie die zusätzliche DOT-Zulassung unterstreichen den hohen Sicherheitsanspruch des Herstellers.

Ruhe auf langen Etappen

Wer viele Kilometer fährt so wie ich, der weiß: Nicht die Geschwindigkeit macht müde, sondern der Lärm.

Genau hier spielt der Aventuro Travel Carbon seine Stärken aus. Die doppelte Visierdichtung des Silent Travel Seal Systems, spezielle Anti-Noise-Wangenpolster und die ausgeklügelte Aerodynamik sorgen für ein angenehm ruhiges Fahrerlebnis. Selbst bei erschwerten Vorraussetzungen wie bei meiner BMW R1200R mit Classic Trophy Verkleidung macht der Helm eine gute Figur. Allerdings erst nachdem ich ihm das Sonnenschild geraubt habe. Dieses sehr flexible Teil war mir dann schlussendlich doch zu viel und ohne gehts einfach feiner.

Auf langen Autobahnetappen bedeutet meine Konfiguration weniger Stress, weniger Ermüdung und deutlich mehr Fahrspaß. Oder anders formuliert. Ich höre den schönen Klang des Motors, oder den Sound aus den JBL-Lautsprechern des Cardo anstatt permanenter Windkonzerte in Dolby Surround.

Belüftung auf höchstem Niveau

Wir kennen das Problem. Morgens fährt man bei zehn Grad los, mittags steht man bei 35 oder 40 Grad in den Lavendelfeldern von Valensol. Dazwischen 15 kleine Orte mit Markt, Stau und Motorhitze. Das ausgeklügelte Belüftungssystem führt Frischluft gezielt durch den Helm und transportiert warme Luft effektiv nach außen. Selbst erfahren und getestet funktioniert hier nicht nur der Text wie ein Werbespruch des Herstellers, sondern das System tatsächlich superb.

Besonders interessant ist dabei die patentierte zentrale Luftstromkammer, die Luft zwischen den EPS-Schichten zirkulieren lässt. Zusammen mit den schnell trocknenden X-MART DRY-Polstern entsteht so dieser Klimakomfort, der selbst bei hohen Temperaturen überzeugt.

Die vielleicht größte Stärke: Flexibilität

Was den Aventuro Travel Carbon für mich persönlich zu einem meiner absoluten Lieblingshelme macht, ist neben der Passform und dem fluffigen Innenfutter seine enorme Vielseitigkeit. Kaum ein anderer Helm bietet aktuell eine vergleichbare Flexibilität bei Anbauteilen und Konfigurationen. Und ja ich weiß manch einer will einfach nur Motorrad fahren..

Allerdings werden hier einfach zu montierende Kamerahalterungen mitgeliefert und Intercom-Systeme lassen sich sauber nachrüsten. Die Peak-Verlängerung kann angepasst oder entfernt werden und selbst die Nutzung als Jethelm ist dank P/J-Homologation offiziell möglich.

Damit ist es dann auch egal ob es der Alpenpass, die Schottertour, Autobahnetappe oder der Stadtverkehr ist, der Helm passt sich meinem Einsatzzweck an und nicht umgekehrt.

Fazit

Für mich ist der Touratech Aventuro Travel Carbon daher weit mehr als nur ein weiterer Adventure-Helm. Aus meiner Sicht verbindet er moderne Sicherheit, hohen Komfort, exzellente Belüftung und bemerkenswerte Alltagstauglichkeit in einem durchdachten Gesamtpaket.

Besonders beeindruckend ist dabei die Vielseitigkeit. Adventure-Helm, Tourenhelm, Klapphelm und bei Bedarf sogar Jethelm.

Daher gehört er für mich aktuell zu den interessantesten und flexibelsten Reisehelmen auf dem Markt. Und ganz ehrlich: Wenn ein Helm sowohl auf einer Schotterpiste in den Alpen als auch beim Eisholen in der Altstadt eine gute Figur macht, können die Stammtisch-Experten auch mal inne halten und Touratech hat vermutlich vieles richtig gemacht.

Among motorcyclists, helmets tend to fall into the same category as tires and engine oil. Everyone has an opinion, and naturally, everyone is convinced they’re using the only correct choice. Fair enough.

But every now and then, a product comes along that even makes the most dedicated garage and coffee-shop experts pause for a moment. In my opinion, the new Touratech Aventuro Travel Carbon (powered by NEXX) belongs exactly in that category. Quite simply because it’s a multitool.

At first glance, the Aventuro Travel Carbon makes its intentions clear. Adventure-bike styling, a distinctive peak, a carbon shell, and an appearance that practically screams wanderlust, gravel roads, and long-distance travel. Yet behind that rugged exterior lies much more than just another adventure helmet.

The Attempt to Build the Ultimate All-Rounder

Together with NEXX, Touratech set out to combine the strengths of an adventure helmet with the comfort and practicality of a modern flip-up helmet.

The result is genuinely impressive. The Aventuro Travel Carbon combines the wide field of vision, excellent ventilation, and sun protection of an adventure helmet with the convenience of a modular design. For riders who wear glasses—like me—or for travelers who frequently stop to take photos, check navigation, or chat with locals, this is a real advantage.

Let’s be honest: anyone who has ever tried asking for directions at a fuel station while fully geared up and wearing a closed helmet knows that even the simplest place names can suddenly sound like ancient Greek. And, at least for me, taking the helmet off is sometimes just too much effort.

Carbon High-Tech

At approximately 1,725 grams, the Aventuro Travel Carbon remains remarkably competitive despite its flip-up mechanism and extensive feature set. More importantly, it inspires confidence. The latest ECE 22.06 certification, combined with DOT approval, highlights Touratech’s strong commitment to safety.

Quiet Comfort on Long Journeys

Anyone who regularly covers serious mileage knows that it’s not speed that causes fatigue—it’s noise.

This is where the Aventuro Travel Carbon truly shines. The double visor seal of the Silent Travel Seal system, dedicated anti-noise cheek pads, and carefully engineered aerodynamics create an impressively quiet riding experience.

Even under less-than-ideal conditions, such as on my BMW R1200R fitted with a Classic Trophy fairing, the helmet performs exceptionally well. Admittedly, that only happened after I removed the peak. As flexible and well-designed as it is, it eventually proved to be one aerodynamic compromise too many for my particular setup. Without it, the helmet simply works better for me.

On long motorway stretches, my configuration means less stress, reduced fatigue, and significantly more riding enjoyment. Or, to put it another way, I get to hear the beautiful sound of the engine—or the music coming through my Cardo’s JBL speakers—instead of an endless Dolby Surround concert of wind noise.

Ventilation at Its Best

We’ve all experienced it. You leave in the morning at 10°C, and by lunchtime you’re riding through the lavender fields of Valensole in 35 or even 40°C heat. In between, there are a dozen small villages, traffic jams, and plenty of engine heat.

The Aventuro’s sophisticated ventilation system channels fresh air efficiently through the helmet while effectively exhausting warm air. Having tested it extensively myself, I can confidently say that this isn’t just marketing copy—it genuinely works exceptionally well.

Particularly interesting is the patented central airflow chamber, which allows air to circulate between the EPS layers. Combined with the quick-drying X-MART DRY padding, the result is a level of climate comfort that remains impressive even in extreme temperatures.

Perhaps Its Greatest Strength: Versatility

What makes the Aventuro Travel Carbon one of my personal favorite helmets is not only its fit and wonderfully comfortable interior lining, but also its remarkable versatility.

Very few helmets currently offer such flexibility when it comes to accessories and configuration options. And yes, I know some riders just want to get on their bike and ride.

However, for those who enjoy modern touring equipment, the helmet comes with easy-to-install camera mounts, is fully prepared for intercom systems, and allows the peak extension to be adjusted or removed entirely. Thanks to its P/J homologation, it can even be used legally in open-face mode.

Whether I’m crossing an Alpine pass, tackling gravel roads, cruising down the motorway, or navigating city traffic, the helmet adapts to my needs—not the other way around.

Verdict

For me, the Touratech Aventuro Travel Carbon is far more than just another adventure helmet. It successfully combines modern safety standards, outstanding comfort, excellent ventilation, and impressive day-to-day practicality in one thoughtfully designed package.

Its versatility is particularly impressive. Adventure helmet, touring helmet, modular helmet, and even an open-face helmet when required—the Aventuro Travel Carbon covers an exceptionally wide range of riding scenarios.

That’s why it currently ranks among the most interesting and versatile travel helmets available on the market.

And honestly, if a helmet can perform equally well on a gravel pass in the Alps and while stopping for ice cream in a historic town center, then even the toughest coffee-shop experts might have to pause for a moment and admit that Touratech has done a lot of things right.
