Die Frage der RICHTIGEN Motorradbekleidung ist ebenso schwer zu beantworten, wie die Frage nach dem RICHTIGEN Motorradreifen. Rund und schwarz reicht da meistens nicht aus, also wie soll das erst beim Schutz des eigenen Körpers so einfach beantwortet werden können? Ich kann also nur für mich sprechen bzw. in diesem Fall hier schreiben. Für mich sollte eine gute Motorradbekleidung natürlich sicher sein, aber auch in höchstem Maße komfortabel und anpassungsfähig an meine Bedürfnisse. Da ich als Tourenfahrer auf den Land- und Bundesstraßen unterwegs bin ist also mit meinen Vorgaben Leder nicht die allererste Wahl, auch wenn, was den Abrieb angeht, es sicherlich noch immer das Nonplusultra ist.
Daher fiel meine Wahl auf die Voyager II GTX Jacke und Cargo II GTX Hose von Stadler. Warum nun erstens aufgrund der sehr guten Qualität und Verarbeitung, zweitens weil es bei Stadler möglich ist die Kombi der Körperform anzupassen, wenn die Stangenware einfach einmal nicht ausreicht. Das genannte System zusammen arbeitet außerdem sehr flexibel, sodass man praktisch für jede Wetterlage gerüstet ist. So besteht die Außenhaut aus CORDURA® 500 und CORDURA® Air, plus einem Anteil an Microvelours. Hier sind auch die CE-geprüften Protektoren untergebracht, sowie die Materialdoppelung bei Jacke und Hose an den neuralgischen Stellen, im Schulter- und Ellenbogen- Hüft- Gesäß- und Kniebereich. Als Besonderheit verfügt die Jacke zusätzlich neben einem langen Rückenprotektor auch über einen herausnehmbaren Brustprotektor, der Schutz bei Frontalaufschlägen bietet. Ergänzt wird das Ganze sowohl in der Voyager Jacke wie auch in der Cargo Hose mit einer GORE-TEX® Innenmembrane die herausnehmbar ist. Ohne dieses Innenleben kann man also bei sommerlichen Außentemperaturen mit einem absolut winddurchfluteten, aber sicheren Motorradkombi durch die Landschaft gleiten. Wem das noch nicht ausreichen sollte, der öffnet einfach die zusätzlichen Lufteinlässe an Rücken und Armen, um die Frischluftzufuhr zu erhöhen. Die Ausstattung wird weiters durch genügend Stauraum nämlich 2 wasserdicht konstruierte Außentaschen, 2 Brusttaschen, 1 Innentasche, 1 Rückentasche,1 Tasche am Oberarm und 1 wasserdichte Blendentasche in Membranjacke beim Oberteil sowie 2 Hosentaschen plus 2 Cargo-Taschen an der Hose des Anzuges abgerundet.
Aber natürlich fahren die meisten Motorradfahrer einschließlich mir nicht nur bei Sonne und warmen Temperaturen durch die Gegend! Beginnt es also zu regnen, oder geht es gar in Richtung Herbst und es wird richtig ungemütlich draußen, dann kommt die GORE-TEX® Membrane zum Tragen. Bei einem spontanen Regenschauer während einer Tour zieht man sie einfach über den Anzug drüber und verbindet sie wie den Anzug selbst mit dem großen Verbindungsreißverschluss miteinander. Damit lässt es sich durchaus eine ganze Weile lang aushalten, auch wenn der Übergang vom Helm zum Anzug noch als Schwachstelle offen ist. Ist man dagegen ganzjährig unterwegs macht es ab einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt tatsächlich Sinn die Membrane wieder im Anzug zu montieren, um neben dem Schutz vor Nässe auch direkten Schutz vor Wind und Kälte zu haben.
Mein Fazit nach vielen Mehrtagestouren und 1,5 Jahren damit lautet
Die Kombination aus Stadler Jacke VOYAGER II GTX und Hose CARGO II GTX ist in jeder Hinsicht seinen Preis von rund 1200 Euro wert. Nicht nur dass dieses System wirklich Sicherheit am Körper vermittelt, wasserdicht und atmungsaktiv ist, nein auch seine Variabilität und sein Stauraum mit den durchdachten Taschen zeichnen es aus. Denn eins ist klar, am Ende ist und bleibt nun einmal eine sichere Bekleidung die einzige Knautschzone, die wir aktiv auf dem Zweirad besitzen. Welche das am Ende ist muss natürlich jeder für sich selbst entscheiden.

Stadler jacket VOYAGER II GTX and trousers CARGO II GTX
The question of CORRECT motorbike clothing is just as difficult to answer as the question of CORRECT motorbike tyres. Round and black is usually not enough, so how can this be answered so easily when protecting your own body? So, I can only speak for myself or in this case write here. For me, good motorbike clothing should of course be safe, but also extremely comfortable and adaptable to my needs. As I am a touring cyclist on country and national roads, leather is not the first choice for my requirements, even though it is still the ultimate in terms of abrasion.
That is why I chose the Voyager II GTX Jacket and Cargo II GTX Trousers from Stadler. Why now, firstly because of the exceptionally good quality and workmanship, and secondly because Stadler makes it possible to adapt the suit to the body shape if the bar stock simply isn’t enough. The system mentioned above also works together very flexibly, so that you are equipped for practically any weather situation. The outer skin consists of CORDURA® 500 and CORDURA® Air, plus a proportion of micro velour. This is also where the CE-approved protectors are located, as well as the material doubling in the jacket and trousers at the neuralgic points, in the shoulder and elbow, hip, seat and knee areas. As a special feature, the jacket also has a long back protector as well as a removable chest protector, which offers protection in the event of frontal impacts. The Voyager Jacket as well as the Cargo Pants are completed with a removable GORE-TEX® inner membrane. So, without this inner membrane, you can glide through the countryside in summery outdoor temperatures in a wind-blown but safe motorbike suit. If that is not enough for you, simply open the additional air inlets on the back and arms to increase the supply of fresh air. The equipment is rounded off by sufficient storage space, namely 2 waterproof outside pockets, 2 breast pockets, 1 inside pocket, 1 back pocket, 1 pocket on the upper arm and 1 waterproof cover pocket in membrane jacket on the upper part as well as 2 trouser pockets plus 2 cargo pockets on the trousers of the suit.
But of course, most motorcyclists including me do not only ride around in sunshine and warm temperatures! So, if it starts to rain, or even if it is heading towards autumn and it gets uncomfortable outside, then the GORE-TEX® membrane comes into play. In the event of a spontaneous rain shower during a tour, you simply pull it over the suit and connect it together like the suit itself with the large connecting zip. This makes it possible to keep it in place for quite a while, even if the transition from helmet to suit is still open as a weak point. If, on the other hand, you are out and about all year round, it makes sense to fit the membrane back into the suit from a certain point on, in order to have direct protection from wind and cold as well as from moisture.
My conclusion after many tours of several days and 1,5 years is
The combination of Stadler jacket VOYAGER II GTX and trousers CARGO II GTX is worth its price of around 1200 euros in every respect. Not only does this system really provide safety on the body, is waterproof and breathable, but it is also characterised by its variability and storage space with the well-thought-out pockets. Because one thing is clear: in the end, safe clothing is and remains the only crumple zone that we have actively on the bike. Of course, everyone must decide for themselves which one that is in the end.
